How are virtual gift cards delivered?

Our virtual gift cards are delivered by email. There is no shipping charge for the gift card itself.

What are your lamps made from?

Our lamp shades are made in Rangitīkei, Aotearoa, from plant-based PLA bioplastic. PLA stands for polylactic acid and is made from plant-derived sugars. The lamps in our current collection pair these shades with smooth-finished rubberwood bases. See each product listing for dimensions, lighting controls and included components.

How should I clean and care for my lamp?

Switch off and unplug your lamp before gently dusting it with a soft, dry cloth. Keep it indoors, dry and away from heaters, strong direct sunlight and hot cars. Do not immerse it, put it in a dishwasher or use abrasive cleaners. If the lamp or cable is damaged, stop using it and contact us.

Can I compost or recycle the PLA shade?

Please keep the shade out of home compost. Plant-derived material does not automatically make a finished item compostable or locally recyclable. In Aotearoa New Zealand, PLA should not go into kerbside or soft-plastic recycling. Ask your local waste provider about suitable disposal options for the shade and electrical components.

What do the names and designs mean?

Our collection draws on Māori and Pasifika inspiration, with each product page explaining its story. In te reo Māori, aroha includes love and compassion, while tūhono means to join or connect. The symbolism described in our product stories expresses Ahoroa Studio's own design interpretation. Choose a story that feels meaningful to the person or occasion.

Can I add a gift box?

Gift packaging can be selected where it is offered as a product option or a separate listing. If you cannot find the option you need, send us an enquiry.

Do you take custom or bulk enquiries?

Yes. Tell us about your idea, intended use and quantity. We discuss feasibility, a quote and timing for each project before work begins.

What if I need help with an order or product?

Contact Ahoroa Studio with your order number, if you have one, and a description of your question or product issue so we can help.
